Grammy-Winning Blues Traveler to Appear at Mountain Laurel Center on Wednesday, August 16 at 7 p.m.
Bushkill, PA — The Grammy-winning band Blues Traveler will play the Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, August 16 at 7 p.m., as part of the center’s new Carload Concert series. Admission to a Carload Concert is just $20 per carload, and tickets are available at the gate or in advance at the box office - call 570-426-2080 for more information.
The very best way to experience Blues Traveler is live and loose — exactly the way they’ll be at MLCPA. “When a ticketholder comes into a Blues Traveler concert, the most sacred tradition is to have fun,” declares the band’s official website. “Dancing is another tradition, usually coinciding with the first tradition.” The acclaimed, Grammy-winning blues-rock quintet (John Popper on vocals and harmonica, Chan Kinchla on guitar, Tad Kinchla on bass, Ben Wilson on keyboards and Brendan Hill on drums) has collected an avid following of jam-happy fans over the years. Balancing virtuoso talent with impeccable songcraft, combining pop hooks with blues and rock-influences grooves, Blues Traveler’s live shows have won a reputation for explosive intensity and all-around good times. Their Grammy-crowned single “Run-Around” still holds the record for longest-charting single ever on the Billboard charts, and their worldwide breakout hit “Four” was certified six-times platinum. The band has a total of six gold and platinum releases.
Mountain Laurel Center performances are held rain or shine. Theater doors will open two hours before curtain. Admission to this event is $20 per carload (for vehicles with 4 wheels and no more than nine seats; larger passenger vans will be admitted for $40 per carload; tour buses with up to 50 seats will be admitted for $150). Seating is open and unreserved, and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons are encouraged to purchase food and beverages at the center’s concession stands and picnic on the grounds (no tailgating or outside food/beverages allowed). Parking lots open at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets will be on sale for cash at the gate for this show, or may be purchased in advance at the MLCPA Box Office, or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or (570) 693-4100 (a service fee applies to Ticketmaster purchases). The Mountain Laurel Center Box Office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to curtain on all performance days.
